A WOMAN'S DIARY PAINTINGS 1977
In the first phase of my work, I tried – based on the awareness of women’s issues – to fully embrace the theme, considering women’s place in the daily lives of our society and using signs of expressionist inspiration.
The resulting images, although dramatic, failed to convey that feeling of violence, of reality or the need to report what I had inside. In “A Woman’s Diary” I started a series of works where I use my own body as a reference; the body, therefore, appears no longer as an object, but rather, a subject of the work.
